But I can’t deny it isn’t about the reads.

If Medium didn’t have a partner program, I’d still write. And I’ll write gladly. But honestly, I’m not so sure I would if there’s no one to read it.

Articles don’t get recommended, it doesn’t get reads. I know the work it takes to write a single essay of good quality. Zero reads is discouraging for writers.

That’s my point.
