“Preconceived notion of themselves…”

It’s interesting you wrote that line, especially when one takes the time to ponder on it.

One may ask, where do we get those preconceived notions? Usually, family. Who, themselves, have been indoctrinated by society and probably, but also very often, have traded their true selves for a place in society’s embrace. (That is, acceptance. For to be a non-conformist, that is, to eschew the herd, to turn your back on their doctrines, is an act of bravery and strength.)

The question, therefore, is what
/who could they have been if they’ve held on to their true selves?

Because, I’m a believer that the self is a path. For whoever we choose to be, its path we must tread. And its destiny, we must accept.

Just thinking out loud!

I like those simple line above, Greg. This is good stuff. A gym for the mind.
