It’s the society we’ve created. Human life is meaningless. It’s just a tool to keep the engine running.
What they care about is, money money and more money.
And sadly, most people are in a position where they can’t protest. Like your friends wife. I’m guessing, if she could, she’d probably take the time to rest.
