Has The Sun Finally Set On Publications?
An old writer's reflections on old Medium publications
Like any other morning, I woke up and hopped on Medium.
Desiring to finish a piece from the day before, I made myself an espresso, hit play on my Spotify Music For Writing playlist, sat on my desk, and gently typed away.
10:00 AM, three hours later, I cracked my knuckles, yawned, and treated myself to another tassa di expresso. Since I struggle with consistency, often due to blockage in the flow of ideas, I’m riding this new wave of inspiration. At least before it, if it ever does, fades out.
It’s why I’ve had a steady stream of articles lately.
But after cleaning up my draft and gulping my second coffee of the day, I stumbled on a bit of a challenge — finding a publication. After half an hour, I was still searching for a befitting publication for my article on “Finding Harmony Between AI and Human Connection”
It’s not easy anymore to find a suitable, high-quality pub for articles. One reason might be that we do not have as many Publications on Medium as we used to, or the quality of new publications has dropped.
