A Good Way We Measure What’s Valuable!
All I do now is think. Ponder and mull over questions of life. I’ve made many mistakes, and to avoid making many more, especially the unnecessary ones, I ponder.
And lately, the question I’ve been chewing on is, what metric can one use in measuring what’s truly valuable so we can wisely know what to invest our time and energy into?
A good one I came upon is, will you be willing to stick with it for the rest of your life?
One way to know the true value of a thing, a job, a relationship, or a career is if given the chance, will you be willing to stick with it for the rest of your life?
Do you love that person enough to share your freedom and space with them for the rest of your life?
In the area of a job or a career, I don’t seek a job that I’d want to retire from. Why? Because the idea that the only thing you can get from a job is nothing but a paycheck, it’s never sat right with me. A job costs so much of our lives, it is, therefore, wise to get more than just a wage.
I know not everyone is fortunate enough to find their passion, let alone turn it into a source of revenue. But for the many who do, I’m sure very few things come close to the feeling they get.
We embraced writing for the same purpose. I’ll write till my hands are frail and my hair is grey.
Reality is relative. How we choose to live this experience of life is up to us.
But it is important that in our respective lives, we’re able to determine what is valuable. What is important? What will give us the maximum satisfaction in this one-time experience called, life?
