7 Things to Expect When Dating a 30-Year-Old
Age is just a number, they say — but my girlfriend says it’s not
“I don’t know why she can’t see it?”
My girlfriend said as she walked into the apartment. She hurls her bag on the kitchen table, as she laments over her friend.
Surprised, and not sure of what she meant, I said; “What do you mean honey?”
Retrieving a bottle of water from the fridge, she turned towards me and said in an almost irritated tone; “She’s just 19 and he is 33...”
It was then I finally figured out who she was talking about.
At this point, my eyebrows are raised in a manner that says there is also an age gap between us too.
“So…?” I tossed at her.
“You’re just over 30, babe, you should know what I mean.” She returned.
“Well, you’re not 19, and...”
“…And yet I can tell because I know how different it is from dating you.” She interjected knowing what I was going to say already.
My girlfriend is relentless, and I've learned to give her ears whenever she is in the mood to talk, especially when she needs to prove a point or make me understand, on those occasions where I seem clueless.
