Brevity.
Good title.
Good edit.
Writers cliche?

Perhaps, that’s the problem.

We’re all in search of the Holy Grail. A secret totem. Or a secret potion. Perhaps, the ingredients for good writing are so common, so easy, it evades most.

Are life’s secrets hidden in the Eiffel Tower? Or is the key to happiness tucked away in some Himalayan mountains? Why, therefore, should the secret to good writing be any different?

To write well is simple.

So many boring articles, however, make you wonder if it’s rocket science.
With that in mind, here are 5 reasons I’ll skip your article after just 5 seconds.

Firstly, readers aren’t your friends.
Neither am I.

Stop writing as though you and readers are flat mates. Skip the casual chit-chat. No rambling. No weak predictable clichés. Start strong. Be sharp. Be witty. Be direct.

We don’t think alike, so why write alike? Everyone else’s doing it, ain’t enough reason. Do you instead.
